Addict demo group is a result of merger of another two demoscene groups:
Agravedict and Androids Dream. We will now go back in time to tell what has
made Addict what it is today.
Agravedict was an Amiga demoscene group. Its debut and first big success at
the same time was on Rush Hours party in 1998. There the group has shown vhs
demo and 64k intro. After that the group has not had significant releases.
One day Agravedict has decided to move on and change platform from Amiga to
PC. Then Bayger joined as PC coder. His 64kb intro "Faithfull" won Astrosyn
99 party. After that people involved in PC demoscene (Hex, Still) have
started joining Agravedict. The first Agravedict PC demo "Chained" won demo
compo at Horizon 2000 party. New people like Reve joined then. At the same
time people that were highly involved in the Amiga scene have left the
group. Agravedict has started Planet chartsmag at the end of 1999.
At the early year 2000 the merger with Android's dream took place. Nobody
knows exactly whose idea it was but it turned out to be good thing to all of
us. The "Addict" name actually comes from from Androids Dream (AD in short)
and last 4 letters of the name Agravedict - this put together makes Addict.
The first release of this new team was MX's (formerly AD coder) 64kb intro
Matrix - it ranked 2nd on Mekka&Symposium 2000 party. People like Lettique
and Frost have joined. With growing numer of people in the group the number
of releases has also grown - in the first year of existence Addict has
released 5 demos and 3 64kb intros. Also Addict was releasing two different
mags - Legend and Planet. Addict is not only about making demos - we are
organizers of party named (surprisingly :) ) "Addict Anniversary" which took
place in Warsaw in the year 2001.
We are not going to stop demo making and other demoscene related
activities - this what we like doing most. Be sure to hear a lot about us in
future.
